The yellow route on the map to your right marks the diversion from the main itinary (above).

North Coast 500, according to the PR Scotland's answer to America's Route 66, forms a loop around the northern Highlands from Inverness to John O’Groats in the north-east, along the rocky shore of the north and down the deeply indented west coast to Applecross. The itineray was designed by a non-profit organisation established by Prince Charles to promote the parts of the Highlands that he apparently is hugely fond of.

How cool is this?

This is the single track road leading to the main North Coast 500 itinary from The Brochs

Achiltibuie and The Brochs are not on the main itinary but an increasing number of people who follow the idea of North Coast 500 chose to divert from it and stay for a couple of days at The Brochs.
